Hall A

Contemporary Extension

This project involved design and project management to extend the existing house in Upminster. The client required the traditional house to be opened up at the rear to connect the internal spaces with their corner garden plot. The brief was to also extend the first floor to create a larger bedroom and bathroom.

The design extended the ground floor by only 1.2m out into the existing garden and by removing the existing rear walls it created a contemporary corner glazed extension.

The new space allows a fantastic living space for cooking, eating and entertaining. Contemporary detailing throughout the extension is provided with a minimalist flying canopy with Western Red Cedar cladding in the soffit to contrast with the zinc and rendered walls.
