This project involved the conversion of a Grade II listed coach house into a two bedroom annexe and a link attached indoor swimming pool. The client required a traditionally formed indoor pool with a structure that allowed a vaulted ceiling aspect to the building. This was achieved using timber glulam portal frames with stainless steel shoes.
The former first floor was lowered and a new steel frame was introduced which was left exposed to allow the old and new supporting structures to complement one another. A walnut and stainless steel spiral staircase was designed due to existing restraints because the existing structure that could not be removed.
