The existing site incorporated a moderate sized detached dwelling with fantastic countryside views. The brief was for a replacement 5-bedroom house with large open plan living space, seamlessly connected to the alfresco patio and garden, whilst all other key spaces within the house having connection to the long views across the Lambourne End Country Park in Epping.
For many years our clients lived in their home, with the dream to develop a forever house in a contemporary style they had always desired.
‘Spatial Design Architects’ were selected by our client to provide initial ideas for the scheme after our clients interviewed other Architects practices.
We undertook a feasibility study that incorporated key design ideas, planning considerations, site analysis and how the proposals would sit within the landscape and benefit the design with regards the approach to the house, its interaction with the landscape and context it sits within.
After we developed the design brief with our clients linked to their requirements and mood boards, we were appointed by the family to develop the design, apply for planning permission, prepare technical design, and take the project through to completion as a traditional tendered contract.
The objective of the scheme was to design an inspirational, sustainable, contemporary family home that improves the quality of their lives. The proposed dwelling would be centred around the panoramic views over the metropolitan greenbelt.
The client required a house with eco-technologies, traditional materials, detailed to create a contemporary form and a design with a difference.
Spatial Design Architects have once again successfully designed a contemporary family home and navigated the planning system to gain planning approval (October 2022), via our Greenbelt design and planning strategy. We now look forward to moving the project through our detail and deliver process.
