Spatial Design Architects were contacted to undertake the design for a new build dwelling.
Located on a Hillside in Corfu, Greece, this newly designed dwelling was commissioned by private clients seeking to build a contemporary family home that embraced its natural setting.
The brief called for a home that balanced open, light filled interiors with a strong connection to the outdoors, enabling flexible living spaces. The design features a linear form that steps with the contours of the land, offering a composed and structured form that complements the lush, natural landscape.
The design is characterised by refined linear elements, with a refined selection of materials including white render, stone, timber detailing, and large expanses of glazing.
Outdoor living was a key part of the design intent. Generous terraces at both levels, an infinity-edge pool, and shaded seating and dining areas all work to extend the living space outwards. The upper-level roof terrace provides further views out across the landscape, with planting and screening offering a sense of privacy.
This contemporary home that seeks to enhance everyday life through considered spatial planning, careful detailing, and a strong relationship to the natural beauty of its hillside setting.
